Klaxon By: Dennis Sebayan
Posted Date November 2006

In post-rave world, there is no such thing as dance music, a genre shunned by the powers that be called the indie-rock haters. They carry flasks of Haterade and pour the vile juice on unsuspecting underground clubbers, stripping them of euphoria and good vibes. The putrid juice also gives victims messy, unwashed-looking hair and tight-legged jeans.

Enter the Klaxons, a trio from the UK who are taking the jingle-jangle of rave & roll--with sirens, bells, whistles and riffs that would make The Prodigy proud--to a new generation of kids. The Klaxons are ready to save the world with their dirty, experimental punk-rock sound for the new power rave generation. A rumored label bidding war won't stop the Klaxons from releasing a proper full-length album in the near future. But for now, fans will have to sit content with their current and solid offering, the "Xan Valleys EP," out now on Modular. And yes, "Atlantis to Interzone" is on there as well as "Bouncer." Go check it out. You'll be happy you did.
